Now hosted in the museum, The recomposed Rig starts a psychoanalytical dialogue with Patient O. The museum stands next to the place Riponne, in a building hosting a university library, the local parliament, the art museum, the geological museum and the natural history museum. In this new environment, the object investigate and reflects its own traumatized past, an intertwined social and geological history.
The drilling head, a "trépan" in french, a word which has the same root than "trauma", is borrowed from an exploratory drilling site realized in summer 2011 in Noville, going 3000m under the Lake Geneva.
