Two buildings, visible on the way form the station to the exhibition room, outline a certain history. Both built at the same time in the late 30's by the same architect, Armin Meili, local moderate modernist architect, both reactualized in 1999, one by Jean Nouvel, one by a group of young local architect. The AAL (Armee Ausbildungszentrum Luzern) is a functional military building, that was kept, only it's function got a slight shift. The KKL is the congress, concert and art palace of Luzern, it's function remained, but the building was totally destroyed and reconstructed. The exhibit show them, their histories and contingencies, idelogical backgrounds, political motivations: the web of actions and ideas in the city that brought them into existence.
